Pick the Stars Hosts Montreal International
The dynamic director, Daniele Dorice, a fantastique stage entertainer, hosted an unforgettable, unique experience June 27-8-9 & 30. The family-orientated competition was staged in Montreal at the Salle Jean Grimaldi of CEGEP Andre-Laurendeau where the competitors had a beautiful working stage on which to perform and each participating school had their own personal dressing room. Besides always running on time, PTSI didn't forget a thing - A hot kitchen that provided for the hungry and all the free parking imaginable. No late night marathons here - the running order schedule was carefully crafted by the Directors so everyone could have the evenings off to enjoy the festive city of Montreal.
Mme. Dorice selected the cream of the crop for her judges - Mr. Gary Glading (Artistic and Entertainment Director for Costa Cruise Lines in Genova, Italy) - Augie and Margo Rodriguez of Miami who were considered the best adagio couple in the business and who now are show producers for Disney and various cruise lines. Rounding out our team of five judges we had Lois Arkwright and Gisele Cormier, both renowned teachers, choreographers and dance professionals on the Canadian scene.
The attending schools won over $30,000 in CASH, Trophies, Medals and Gift Certificates... A "FANTASTlQUE" time was had by all and no one went home empty handed !!!
Audition - Professional Opportunities - Audition
Pick The Stars, because of their "show biz" roots, likes to take that extra step for their participants. One of the highlights was an Audition that took place on the afternoon before the Gala "Show-off-Show" Production. Director, Mme. Daniele Dorice, with her expert skill, prepared a professional audition that not only showcased Dancers but Male & Female Singers for Costa Cruises and Disney Productions. It was a perfect opportunity for placement in production shows on board cruise ships and theme parks. After the audition, Mr. Glading of Costa Cruises mentioned that it was one of the most productive and well formatted auditions that he has attended in years and that many of the individuals will have the opportunity to perform on board Costa Ships in the near future!! What a great success!! The Directors and Staff of PTSI are very proud to have made this available!!
