Program: Passionate, melancholic, mysterious, and marvelous, the works on this program will entertain you with a wide range of emotions.

"Carmen" (World Premiere). Inspired by the familiar story of a bewitching Gypsy woman and her fated lover, Septime Webre's sexy, stylized, and somewhat iconoclastic "Carmen" is set to the Spanish rhythms of Georges Bizet's world-famous opera score.

"The Four Temperaments." This cool, modernistic masterpiece, showcasing some of George Balanchine's most complex and satisfying work, is based on the ancient notion that the human body is made up of four temperaments. Music by Paul Hindemith.

"In the Glow of the Night." "... profoundly poetic and the most sublime of Choo-San Goh's ballets," "In the Glow of the Night" is set to Bohuslav Martinu's beautiful music. Goh "propelled The Washington Ballet to international status on the jet stream of his talent," during his 11-year tenure with the Company (The Washington Post). The re-staging of this work is made possible through a generous gift from Richard Kasten.
