CNADM
The Chicago National Association of Dance Masters (CNADM) has announced its 2002 schedule of Dance Workshops. These events feature classes for both students and teachers alike and showcase the talents and expertise of over 30 nationally revered dance educators.
The eight-day Summer Workshop will be held July 22-29, 2002 and features four instructional tracks including courses covering various dance disciplines with emphasis on ballet, tap and jazz. The four tracks are:
Training School, held from July 22-25, places emphasis on teaching technique, educational theory and personal dance development through classes and workshops.
National Ballet Forum, held from July 23-26, provides teachers the opportunity to obtain new works created by nationally recognized choreographers, which can be added to their repertoire. Students have the opportunity to study with a professional classical ballet faculty and to participate in the creation of a new ballet.
Convention, held from July 26-29, consists of a continuing education seminar especially designed to serve the needs of the professional dance educator. Emphasis is placed on providing original choreographed materials, notated in book form.
Student Session, held from July 27-29, is a special three-day session for students ages 10-16 to enhance their development. Emphasis is placed on technique and performance through classes conducted by our faculty of master teachers and performers.
In addition to the workshop classes, CNADM will hold their Ballet Gala on the evening of July 26 that will include the presentation of the newly commissioned ballets from National Ballet Forum. The Miss and Mr. CNADM Scholarship Pageant will be held on the evening of July 27.
This competition is open to members and students of members and winners will receive a full year's scholarship to CNADM workshops. The week will close out with the Student Competition on the evening of July 28.
