Sarah Hughes: Olympic Gold Medal Winner Promotes Skatewear by Capezio
New York, New York/Totowa, New Jersey - Capezio Ballet Makers, a leading manufacturer of dancewear, never had a doubt about 16-year-old Sarah Hughes' talent and perseverance. In fact, the company signed a sponsorship agreement with the U.S. figure skating Gold Medallist months before the Olympics when Ms. Hughes was the reigning World bronze medallist and U.S. silver medallist. In a contract signed in November 2001, it was agreed that Hughes would be featured in Capezio's skatewear catalog and advertisements. She also consented to help promote the Capezio Skatewear line. The division, launched in 1998, features dresses and accessories designed exclusively for figure skaters.
Sarah and Capezio have already worked together on several projects including the company's catalog. Posters and new signage have been prepared and will soon adorn skatewear collections at all retail locations. When Sarah's coach Robin Wagner expressed the need for a special tight, Capezio developed one for Sarah that she wore for her Olympic performances. This tight is in development for the skatewear line. Olympic autograph cards were also designed for Sarah by Capezio.
