Suzanne's School of Dance

Batavia, NY - Suzanne's School of Dance celebrates its 20th year anniversary by honoring our country with a special dedication recital "God Bless America."

In the tradition of Suzanne's School of Dance endeavors, students learn that even the smallest gestures of patriotism and pride can move mountains, and help with their own understanding of feelings of fear and loss of control in the 911 tragic event.

We adults realize if we can help our country in some small way, we feel like we have gained some control in our lives. This is also crucial for our children who may feel the pressure and fears deeply. This year's recital is meant to help them heal and to encourage patriotism and pride in our country.

In honor of the families and victims of 911, and to all of the servicemen and women fighting for our freedom, we dedicate our recital to them with a patriotic salute to their heroism.

The finale for the show is a moving rendition of "God Bless America," sung by Celine Dion, featuring the original choreography by Suzanne Hoyt-Humel. Dancers adorned with flags, and, red, white and blue flowing scarves. Among the dancers are men in army reserves, policemen and firefighters, with a thought-provoking look of vulnerability, pride and love and freedom for our country.•
