Camp Broadway Received 2002 Standing Ovation Award for Promotion of Theatre Arts Education

Cincinnati, OH - The Educational Theatre Association announced that Camp Broadway LLC, a theatre arts education company, is the recipient of its Standing Ovation Award for 2002.

The Standing Ovation Award was created to recognize companies or corporations that have made significant, continuous contributions to promoting and strengthening theatre education. This year's award is in recognition of Camp Broadway's commitment and leadership in developing programs and activities bringing students and theatre together. Michael Peitz, executive director of the Educational Theatre Association, made the announcement.

Camp Broadway received the award at the 2002 International Thespian Festival at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Saturday, June 29. Susan Lee, Camp Broadway's founder, accepted the award for the organization.

Started in 1997 in New York City, Camp Broadway is a theatre arts education and audience development company dedicated to helping educators, children, and families experience theatre in original and creative ways. Their programs are designed to serve the unique needs of both the education and theatre industry by connecting professional artists with young audiences throughout the year.
