Florida Dance Masters

Florida Dance Masters, Inc. wrapped up their fiscal year with another successful Spring Workshop, held in West Palm Beach, at the Sheraton Hotel, April 12 - 14,2002. Dance Classes for Teachers, Senior, Junior and Mini Students were taught and well received, by the Teachers and the Students. The work offered, by the outstanding Faculty throughout the weekend was enjoyed by all.

Dance Competitions were held at the Palm Beach Community College in the Duncan Theatre in Lake Worth...The Junior Miss / Mr. Dance of Florida 2002 Scholarship Competitions were held on Friday evening, April 12th, with Director, Kimberly Beck and her Committee in charge. They and the Judges' Committee are to be commended for having the evening run so smoothly. There were 28 young ladies and 3 young men representing 11 Dance Studios in the Competitions...The Junior Miss Dance Top 10 Finalists and Teachers:

Lonna Spjtaleri - Meg Segreto; Krystina Almaguer - Dance Unlimited; Erin Greenburg - James Dance Center; Kelly Truzzolino - Thomas Dance Studio; Jaime Barker - Thomas Dance Studio; Shannon Healy - Meg Segreto; Jenny Perna - Dussich Dance Studio; Cristina Calvar - Dance Unlimited; Clara Crabtree - Thomas Dance Studio; Erica Rose Little - Dussich Dance Studio. The Junior Miss Dance Winners and Teachers: 4th Runner Up is Cristina Calvar - Dance Unlimited; 3rd Runner up is Erin Greenburg - James Dance Center; 2nd Runner Up is Shannon Healy - Meg Segreto's Dance Center; 1st Runner Up is Erica Rose Little - Dussich Dance Studio; and the Junior Miss Dance of Florida 2002 is Jaime Barker, Thomas Dance Studio in Lake Worth...The Junior Mr. Dance Winners and Teachers: 2nd Runner Up is Pioneer Winter - Edwin Holland School of Dance; 1st Runner Up is Carlo Mixco - Dussich Dance Studio; and the Junior Mr. Dance of Florida 2002 is Daniel Hunlap - Miriam & Valerie's School of Dance Arts in Sanford...The Miss / Mr. Dance of Florida 2002 Scholarship Competitions were held on Saturday evening, April 13. It was a very entertaining event. Congratulations to Amy Kovarik, her Committee and the Judges Committee for being so organized. There were 31 young ladies and 2 young men representing 12 Dance Studios competing. The Miss Dance Top 10 Finalists and Teachers:

MAIN ATTRACTION, Florida Dance Masters Performing Group, performed on Friday and Saturday evenings. Friday, they performed a Jazz piece called, "Extreme Skiing," choreographed by Heather White; Saturday, they performed a Contemporary Ballet piece called, "Mystere," choreographed by Daniel Deal.
