Pick the Stars... Fantastic Finals in Niagara Falls...

"Pick The Stars" International held their 5th Anniversary Finals from June 24th through 29, 2002 at Kingston College, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Executive Director, Daniele Dorice and Managing Director, William A. Skerczak have molded "PICK THE STARS" International Inc. into one of the most dynamic Workshop/Competition organizations on both sides of the US/Canadian borders.

Daniele Dorice equipped with her vast professional background in entertainment and the dramatic arts, as well as her many years as owner/director of her own dance academy, set the stage and atmosphere surrounding the Finals. Competitors, parents, teachers and directors alike came together to renew old friendships and to develop new ones between Canadians and Americans (an International Experience). The entire event was relaxed and focused while being a great learning experience for all.

The dynamic, exciting Finals convention kicked-off with an exhilarating Workshop conducted by master dance class instructors, Derek Mitchell, Michelle Brownlee and Diego Arvelo.
Everyone enjoyed the unique classes, which constituted a great warm-up leading into the competition.

The two additional adjudicators that joined the master class instructors for the judging of the competition were George Angers of Princess Cruises and Gary Glading, artistic director for Costa Cruise Lines who flew in from Genova, Italy to be the chairman of the adjudicating team.

The results were proof of the excitement. Based upon the judges' scores, PTSI awards absolutely every entry. This aspect leaves everyone with the feeling of success. At PTSI "Everyone is a Star"!!!

Mr. Glading, Entertainment Director of Costa Cruises, expressed that the PTSI Finals affords him the opportunity to book fresh, young talented individuals in their "on board" production shows. Mr. Glading graciously presented to the competitors, parents and teacher/directors, a seminar on "Performing and living on board a cruise ship." It was an extremely informative session and much appreciated by all. In this vein, if your senior division dancers are interested in performing on board Costa Cruise Ships, kindly get in touch with PTSI.

The weeklong event, progressed under the friendly guidance of Louise and Jim Niemi (PTSI Public Relations). The daily schedules were carefully set-up in order to be conducive to providing the participating schools and families ample time to enjoy the wonder of the magnificent Horseshoe Falls and the many attractions featured in and around Niagara Falls.

Closing off the convention week, PTSI staged a gala "Show-Off-Show." Daniele Dorice, a most versatile, international performer of tremendous showmanship and elegance, presented a fabulous show for which Daniele received an enthusiastic standing ovation. In her inimitable charming style, Daniele then proceeded to Host the "Show-Off-Show." The amazing talent provided the students was definitely outstanding.
