Tennessee Assoc. of Dance Summer Workshop for Youth

This workshop will be presented on June 12-25, 2005 at Baylor School, Chattanooga, Tennessee, for intermediate and advanced students ages 12-18. The curriculum provides exceptional quality intensive training for serious young dancers. No audition is required; placement classes will situate students for maximum learning.

There will be an informal showing of student generated works and a repertory concert on June 25th in the Roddy Performing Arts Center Theater.

Supervised evening and weekend activities are provided at no extra cost for boarding students. These activities are also available to commuter students at an additional charge.

The faculty consists of Peggy Burks, David Goud, Mari Jo Irbe, Sandra Kaufmann, and Elizabeth Longphre. All classes are held on the breathtakingly beautiful and sprawling campus of Baylor School - between Signal and Lookout Mountains. The Fine Arts center Complex offers beautiful, state of the art studio and performing facilities for dance in the Roddy Performing Arts Center. Campus recreational facilities include tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and beautiful grounds for hiking or just meditation.

Residential students will be house in recently renovated Probasco Hall, supervised by adult counselors. Enrollment is limited and students are encouraged to apply early. No audition is required, however two recommendations, at least one from a dance teacher, must be submitted on the application forms.
