Flutter-luscious

We don't know why they call them BADgal Gear, 'cause anyone with the patience and precision to apply false eyelashes has got to be good. But it's part and parcel of a dancer's purview to apply "falsies" at some point. BeneFit's kit is a good place to start. We slipped into Sephora for some tips on how to get it right the first time. Makeup artist Tamara Dolan at NYC's Times Square store suggested we grab some tweezers. Holding one end of the lash with your fingers and the other with the tweezers, get it as close to your lash line as humanly possible. This is practice. Then apply the glue, conveniently a light neon lavender so you can see that you've applied it evenly (disappears when dry). The tweezers also help maneuver lash ends into the corners of your eyes, but if you screw up, pull the lash end up slightly and apply a bit more glue with the blunt end of the tweezer. Tamara's secret: Use the tweezers to pinch the "falsies" together with your own lashes so there's no separation between the two. Apply the eyeliner (we love this stuff, lashes or no) and then the BADgal mascara to the roots of lashes to blend and cover any gaps. Just wearing 'em makes you feel oh-so glamorous. Limited edition, $28 at Sephora (obviously) and other fine retail cosmetic outlets, or www.benefitcosmetics.com, 800-781-2336.
