J.T. Bell

In our June 2005 cover story regarding the Abby Lee Miller Studios, we featured the photography of J.T. Bell of Creative Arts Photography in Warren, Ohio. We thought you might enjoy more of J.T.'s handiwork.

J.T.'s focus, so to speak, is dance photography, and he brings more than thirty years experience to the shoot. Although J.T. never misses a dancer's "sparkle," he measures his success in part by how well his photos catch the action. "When it all works, it's like you're riding on the dancer's shoulder, and her training and talent let you know when to shoot." says J.T. "She makes the picture -- I just have to press the button when I'm told."

It is in the studio where J.T's photography becomes "Creative Arts Photography." J.T. spends hours, if not days, creating composites like those pictured here that are seemingly without borders. J.T.'s goal is to define then harmonize the essence of both the dance and the dancer. "I call it painting with pictures," says J.T.

Visit J.T.'s website at jtbcreativearts.com, or contact him at (330) 448-6902. J.T. is now photographing a second generation of dancers, and plans on being there for the third.
