So you think you can dance? Tell it to the guys who create all the dances that you're so familiar with! Choreographers Cris Judd and Eddie Garcia have worked with a long list of stars that would have you green with envy. Their latest project is "Dance Like We Do," a DVD designed to bring the dance studio to you! Once you've gotten past the dancing, keep up with Cris and Eddie's antics as we see glimpses of the guys behind the dancers. In an exclusive interview for Dancer, celebrity choreographers Cris Judd and Eddie Garcia tell-all about their lives on the road, the stars they've worked with, and their goals and ambitions.
Dancer: We hear you've been making some magic in Vegas at the Luxor!
Cris: Yeah, we just finished directing and choreographing a brand new show called Fantasy, starring eight of the most gorgeous girls on The Strip.
Eddie: It's awesome! It was a great opportunity for us to work with Anita Mann.
Dancer: From the looks of it, you guys do a lot of traveling. How often are you out on the road?
Eddie: I'm hardly ever home, I travel so much I don't even remember the last time I was there.
Cris: Since we're not touring as much, the traveling has become less frequent, but our job still takes us to some really cool places. It's been a lot of fun!
Eddie: Yeah, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Dancer: The DVD seems like a natural jump for you guys, how was that experience?
Eddie: It was definitely something we wanted to do, to be able to reach out to our fans and our non-fans. We had a great time choreographing and filming the routines.
Cris: The technology in the DVD is unbelievable! You can watch the routines from 360 degrees, unlike any other DVD out there. Putting the DVD together was an amazing experience for both of us.
Dancer: How has the response been?
Cris: Excellent! People from around the world have been ordering the DVD and learning how to dance like we do.
Dancer: Are the routines based on past numbers that you've worked on with some big name celebrities? Can you tell us a little about that?
Cris: One of the routines in the DVD is based on a past number. Actually, it kind of resembles a video I did. I've performed with Michael Jackson, Cher, Celine Dion, Diana Ross, *NSYNC, and Usher to name a few.
Eddie: We wanted to bring the experience of dancing in a video to your living room. There is also some original material that we choreographed exclusively for this DVD.
Dancer: So what's next for the both of you?
Cris: We have two or three more shows in development for Las Vegas and Atlantic City. I'm really excited, I'd love to come back and tell you about them.
Eddie: Cris and I are hoping that within the next year, we'll also have an opportunity to launch a new musical.
Life is certainly on the fast track for Cris and Eddie. Having already met so much success, these two are a force to be reckoned with in the world of dance. With more than a few projects on the horizon, they continue to make themselves household names. Cris and Eddie have appeared on television and radio shows on national and local levels, and they have been seen in some of the most popular magazine publications to date. On its own, "Dance Like We Do" has been highlighted with great reviews, and has garnered a steady stream of celebrity fans. Pop dancers like Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas and Nick Lachey are huge supporters of the DVD. Cris and Eddie's easy-going approach and professionalism make an easy transition from the big stage to any living room. There's no question that their upcoming endeavors will all be successful--especially if everyone loves them "like we do"!
