Bust Out of the Bun
There are some occasions when it's good to let the bun come undone. Here's yet another mineral to trade your diamond in for--Tourmaline. Like it's cult-fave counterpart, the T3 Tourmaline Hairdryer (the ultra-lightweight blowdryer that dries hair 60% faster), the brand new T3 Twirl Spring Curling Irons also use tourmaline technology to style hair without damaging those tender tresses. The curling irons'
negative ions and infrared heat equal smoother, frizz-free curls that are super shiny and long-lasting, explains stylist Leonard Zagami of the NYC's trendy OC 61 Salon & Spa. Plus, Leonard clues us in on a little-known fact: The gemstones are crushed into the T3's ceramic barrel and clamp so they never lose their ionic properties, which means it can be heat intensive without ever burning hair. Other irons have an ionic spray coating that eventually wears off which means...sizzled strands! Other tips: "Wrap hair round the wand and hold vertically for 30 seconds to create loose, soft, natural waves. Hold the curl in your hand or clip while cooling for a curlier, bouncier texture," says Leonard. $200 for .75", 1" and 1.25" irons; at Sephora stores (877-SEPHORA, www.sephora.com).
