Letters & E-mails
Dear Sharon:
When you see Danny Herman next, please tell him there's a neat photo of him with Jerry Mitchell, Bob Fosse and Jodi Moccia in the current issue of Dancer Magazine! Needless to say, his name jumped out of the pages at me and I was delighted to see him pictured with Fosse, of all people! It was in an article on Mitchell. [photo is on page 67].
I presume you already get the magazine, but if you don't you might want to request it since it's distributed to all dance studios in America. I imagine you can request a subscription to the hard copy issues at their website: http://www.danceronline.com/
Hope your holidays are happy and filled with many blessings.
Love,
Patti [Patricia Goulding]
Thank you very much for including Limelight in your Competition/ Conventions issue. Limelight is brand new to the competition/convention circuit and we are excited to be included in such a reputable publication. Thank you!

Finally, I got to read your December issue cover to cover. Really, I just kept reading article after article - a wealth of information! It was the only reading material (along with my bible) that I took with me on vacation, and loved it!
As in your own words, studio owners are the busiest people I know, and your mag-azine provides us with a tool that can actually save us time. The article on what it costs to be in a children's competitive dance company was extremely thorough (more info than my own print-out) and good for "new" company parents to see that it's not just "my take" on what it cost them in finances and time.
I usually get at least one article read from Dancer, but after this December issue it's very clear to me I've been missing opportunities to read information that would probably save me time, or better yet, motivate me with other people's success stories through their courageous hardships.
This will be Showtime's 25th Anniversary recital. I am planning a big reunion party and show on June 9, 2006...The party/show will be a showcase of 8 local studios that were once a part of Showtime, i.e., former students, teachers, etc. Naturally, I'm putting together the best of the last 25 years at Showtime video for some fun reminiscing.
Well, this started out as just a short thank you for a fabulous publication that I'm so grateful for. Thanks for all you do, for a nation full of dancers with a passion.

Dear Melba [Huber],
I apologize for the time lapse getting back to you for your generosity of time and energy to e-mail the great pix from the participants' showcase at the great "Tradition in Tap,"
honoring LaVaughn Robinson and you. (If this e-mail is successful in reaching you, please know that it is the first one that I have ever done. Oiy!! 2006 will definitely be progressive.)
Thank you so much for those great pictures from the showcase. They are the only ones that I have. They look great in my studio. The students have enjoyed them as well as their parents. One of the local papers printed it with a caption article as well.
It was with great surprise and anticipation to read the wonderful article about the November 4th weekend in Dancer Magazine. It was a wonderful weekend. I am so glad that I was able to be a part of such a wonderful "Tradition." ( I hope to attend in May) Thank you for mentioning me in the article as to those who spoke about LaVaughn. Thank you for the great "review" of Beverly and me.
My husband is recovering well from his recent back surgery in December in Germany. He was able to attend the festival with me in November. The pictures and feature article excited him very much. Thank you again.
Looking to a peaceful, happy, healthy and exciting New Year. God Bless.
Love,
Joanne Reagan Horn
We have collected a total of over $40,000 worth of new costumes with the generous help from DesignWorks of Massachusetts, over $3000 worth of new dance shoes, and over $5,000 in used products & goods for our I'M STILL DANCING - Katrina Dancer Relief Fund.
We have delivered to some of the studios in December and are to return in February to deliver more. We have started a WALL OF THANKS on our website for everyone who has donated to our fund.
If anyone is still affected please let them know that they can contact us anytime at the office 212.222.2772 or email us at NYLADANCE@aol.com or go to our website www.NYLADANCE.com
I enclosed a studio pic and some of the items which I have already received and delivered myself to the affected studios. I went down there in December and had a chance to see the devastation. It will truly take years to rebuild everything. Hope you can do a short update in the magazine.
