Earn College Credit at Standing O Productions Summer Dance Education Conference
Standing O Productions announces that all high school graduates who attend their 2006 summer dance education conference in Chicago, Illinois will be eligible to earn a college credit to any University in the United States. The 5-day conference titled Embracing the Dream and has been labeled "World Class Dance Education for students between the ages of 9 and 21." The conference dates are July 24 - 28.
The conference has earned its title of "World Class Dance Education" by effective diversity in its curricula and master faculty. Embracing the Dreams programming has been described as an "Insightful amazing journey that all students/performers should experience one in a lifetime."
Kim Farah, Executive Producer stated, "it is important to note that as the performing arts industry continues to change so must a student's educational experiences and opportunities." Trish Humenansky-Laub, Executive Director added, "Competition is not enough." "It is important to be able to offer students effective training that will include the whole picture of the dancer from dance education, performance technique and experience to career inception."
Based on the Embracing the Dream trilogy of books the five day conference will accelerate the student of dance's ability to reach their full potential. Participants at the 5-day conference will also be eligible to be awarded scholarships to some of the United States' top performing arts schools. ETD is guided by the philosophy that it takes 3 to make a dancer, the student, the teacher, and the parent therefore; the conference offers a full curriculum of classes and workshops for dance educators and parents too.
