Kids in Competition
PrimeTime Dance, based in Mesquite, Texas and directed by Jade Edwards, is an all group competition (no solos). Regional finals were held May 13, at the Omni Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
PrimeTime Dance gets the audience and contestants up and dancing while members of their traveling team tosses tee shirts to the crowd from the stage. We got the opportunity to sit with dancer Ariel Reichenback, 12, between numbers. Ariel told us she has been dancing for more than 8 years, performing her first solo at age 3. Ariel has been home-schooled since the 2nd grade, which allows her to take her studies on the road competing in various national competitions across the country. Her dance studio is the Robin Dawn Academy of Performing Arts, Cape Coral, Florida. Ariel would love to perform on Broadway one day, and plans to attend NYU one day.
