Florida Dance Masters Host Outstanding Spring Workshop
Florida Dance Masters, Inc. ended their fiscal year with an eventful/educational "Spring Dance Workshop," held at the Marriott Boca Raton Hotel in Boca Raton, FL, April 21 - 23, 2006 ... Dance classes in Acrobatics, Ballet, Jazz, Modem, Myokinetics and Tap were taught by "Master Teachers" and were offered to students and teachers this year in four categories: Mini's / Demi's (Ages 6-8 yrs); Juniors (Ages 9-12 yrs); Seniors (Ages 13 yrs & up); and Teachers / Assistants (Ages 18 & older). The work offered by the excellent Faculty throughout the weekend, was enjoyed by all.
Florida Dance Masters Jr. Miss / Mr. Dance Scholarship Competition, and the Miss / Mr. Dance Scholarship Competitions were held at the West Boca Raton High School. The top (6) Finalists for Jr. Miss Dance were: Melody Boyens (James Dance Center -- Annette DuBois); Brittany Dunn (James Dance Center - Shawnda James Caufield); Samantha Elliot (Dance Unlimited - Katie Tate); Sarah Gonzalez (Dance Unlimited - Ricky Ruiz); Ashley Schrader (James Dance Center - Annette DuBois); Amber Schram (Thomas Dance Studio - Teri Szember); 1st Runner-up, Sarah Gonzalez (Dance Unlimited - Ricky Ruiz) and Florida Dance Masters Jr. Miss Dance 2006 is Ashley Schrader (James Dance Center - Annette DuBois).
Finalist for Jr. Mr. Dance is: Craig Stonestreet (Gillian Davis - Edwina Anthony); 1st Runner-up, Blake Adams (James Dance CenterAnnette DuBois); and Florida Dance Masters Jr. Mr. Dance 2006 is Adam Weed (James Dance Center - Ilene Danek).

Congratulations to all of the Contestants, Finalists and Winners!!! *Cash Awards are given to Runner-ups and Winners. Thanks to Directors, Natalie Weld Cozzani and Amy Gentile for making both Competitions run so smoothly and for a job well done! ... The "Shooting Stars Showcase" was held between the Jr. Miss / Mr. Dance and the Miss / Mr. Dance Competitions. This Showcase is NOT adjudicated, but rather a performance in order to give our Demi, Mini, & Junior students a "taste" of what's to come in FDM. The Showcase is open to groups with (3 -7 dancers) and lines of(8 or more) only, ages 6-12 years ... FDM Title Holders for 2005, and Florida Dance Masters Performing Group, "Main Attraction," performed throughout the evening. Congratulations to all of the FDM teachers for having such talented students!
