From a Classic Play, a Great Theatrical Flamenco Ballet Premieres
Miami, FL - A highly anticipated and elaborate production of Flamenco arrives at the Jackie Gleason Theater, "Las Brujas de Salem" (The Witches of Salem). Presented by Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, the Flamenco Ballet is inspired by Arthur Miller's classic play The Crucible about the witch hunts and trials in 17th Century Salem, Massachusetts. Led by legendary Gypsy Flamenco dancer Manuel Santiago Maya, "Manolete", as "John Proctor", Ilisa Rosal as "Elizabeth Proctor" and Paola Escobar as "Abigail Williams", this classic play is transformed into a passionate, theatrical Flamenco work, at once sensual and spiritual, with performances on April 20 and 21 at 8:00pm, and April 22 at 3:00pm, at the Jackie Gleason Theater, as part of the Miami Beach Dance Festival.
