Brief Encounters

Ever wonder what went under a tutu? A unitard? In other words, what kind of underwear would be best for a comfortable, light and hidden base for your stage or class-wear?
For the most part, underwear for dance is flesh colored or black, nylon and washable. Seams are flat and minimum.
For the pre-bra set, no underwear except panties with or without a high leg cut need be worn. As for girls, the best kind of bra, that now come in multiple sizes, are most comfortable in lightweight nylon, with no under-wire support. Panties come in a great variety and range from bikini style, to high side cuts or as an all-in-one camisole undergarment with clear plastic straps. This is an especially good style to wear under a tutu or other costume because it prevents irritation that sometimes occurs with uncovered costume waist seams or a costume with or without straps. As for boys, the usual athletic support will suffice in a flesh color in a full coverage style or a thong. Black is a better choice than white under black tights or unitards.
All dancewear undergarments are relatively inexpensive and dry quickly after a wool-wash dousing.
