Solid Scents

Maybe it's the historic underpinnings that make us absolutely fascinated with this stuff: royal women of ancient Egypt and 19th century Parisian femmes were known to keep a cone-shaped balm handy to scent their hair. But Zents Fresh Concreta's ability to multi-task makes it a modern marvel. The solid fragrance, loaded with essential oils and floral essences, fulfills its primary function as a clean and lively scent for spring and summer, but it has a host of other uses as well. Beeswax makes it a great cuticle saver, sealing in moisture; cocoanut oil makes it ideal for smoothing out rough, dry heels, elbows and knees; shea butter makes it a super spot fix for frizz, with the bonus of UV protection and shine enhancement (apply a pea-size dollop, warmed in the palm, when damp for optimum conditioning). The cool handcrafted stone square looks lovely on any dresser or nightstand, so when the perfume's all gone, it's great for holding diamond studs, pearl earrings or other petite precious objects. $32 at select spas or www.zents.com for stores near you. (Hint: Pear, Petal, Water, or Sun are great seasonal scents too.)
