Dance Library of Israel

The International Committee for the Dance Library of Israel held its annual Dialogues In Dance evening hosted by Mignon Furman, Director of the American Academy of Ballet. The guest speaker was Eleanor D'Antuono former ballerina with the Ballet Russe. The Joffrey Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre.

Eleanor spoke of her training in Boston with E. Virginia Williams and the beginning of her professional career at age 14 when, after taking a class at the Ballet Russe School in New York City , she was invited to join the company. D'Autuono said she learned her craft from watching the great dancers of the day with Ballet Russe and then went on to dance with The Joffrey Ballet for a short time before joining Ballet Theatre. She continued on those lines regaling the gathering with tales of repertoire, rehearsals and partners.

The Dance Library of Israel in Tel Aviv, houses books, magazines, videos and archival materials covering all aspects of dance from around the world.
