The Sarasota Ballet of Florida welcomes a new Artistic Director, Iain Webb, formerly Assistant Director at K-Ballet in Tokyo, Japan. Webb studied at the Rambert School of Ballet and The Royal Ballet Upper School, performed at both the Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet and The Royal Ballet. While at K-Ballet Company, Webb assisted in restaging "Don Quixote, "Swan Lake," "Coppélia" and "The Sleeping Beauty." An overview of SBF's repertoire this season featured Balanchine's "Concerto Barocco," and "Coppélia." SBF's contact is bthurow@dmgsarasota.com.

Karl Condon, former principal dancer at the Boston Ballet and currently Associate Director of Ballet Memphis, and William Pizzuto, also a former principal dancer at the Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet and Ballet West will be members of the faculty for the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's Summer Intensive in July at the Shreveport Dance Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In addition to classical roles, Condon, has appeared in contemporary works by Kudelka, Béjart, Bruce Marks, William Forsythe and Juri Kylián and has been a frequent guest artist. In 1995, Condon was appointed balletmaster and Associate Director of Ballet Memphis.
Born in Tampa, Pizzuto became principal dancer at Houston Ballet where he danced classical roles and contemporary works by Ashton, Glen Tetley, Rudi van Dantzig and Choo San Goh. Pizzuto also won two awards at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi, (1982), a silver medal and special jury award for partnering fellow Houston Ballet principal, Janie Parker. He has also been in great demand as a guest artist and faculty member (Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, 1991) balletmaster and Artistic Director.
